organic chem - my new favorite class

my organic teacher told me to go to see Star Wars tonight and not to study anymore for the test we have tommorow. I hope he is right...but maybe just one more little review...hey and organic is much easier than general chemistry in my opinion. (of course this is a pre-test opinion so maybe I shouldn't say that yet).

making progress m.s application - almost done filling it out. Going to visit the Brody school of medicine next week for a tour. I went to a presentation about them last year and it looks like a very good school. Greenville is not too far from Raleigh so it automatically scores balboa and lindy hop points.

kellogs kash dollar worth about a quarter

ok so I have about 100 kellogs kash right now...at least 70 came from Raisan Brand which I have not been able to eat since last August. THANK God they put the kash on other types of cereal.
Anyway, been trying to win my socerrers of the stone backpack on the kellogskash website but looks like I am going to have to bid 70 or more kk's to get it- so far lost about 15 auctions. Which effectively means my kellogs kash which I paid about $3.00 a box to get for each....is worth about a quarter! It would have been cheaper to fly down to Disney and buy one. Plus now, no one can get me to eat raisan brand ever again- IT'S OVER FOREVER!

Invention #5 - New Names for Buttons

alright, I think we need to update some button names in our standard windows we see on various programs. What I am proposing is replacing all buttons that say the following:

End Now
Cancel
Stop
Submit

With the following text:

Stop the Madness

I know I would have a better time clicking around. hey maybe we should be able to make the buttons customizable to say whatever we want.

and for THESE buttons:
Go
Search
Purchase
and pretty much all the rest of them

we should say:

Go ahead, I'm bored

bio exam & UNCG out of state highway robbery

Exams are over for me. The bio exam was challenging but Dr K was nice and threw in several questions that were exactly the same from previous exams...in my opinion that's playing by the rules when professors do that on a cumlative exams. The only part that really freaked me out is that before the exam started he said we shouldn't need a calculator....and well I needed one...which makes me think maybe the questions was easier than I thought. I tried to do it without the calculator but none of the multiple choice anwsers I came up with were options...oh well. I ended up thinking it was a trick question and picked the one I logically thought could not be the anwser (just experimenting with a new strategy).

Anyway, finally I have time to do something besides study- laundry, cleaning and bill paying...my summa skool bill is due at 5 PM tommorow! errr, UNCG is highway robbery for out-of-state tuition so it's painful to release the money when everyone else pays literally a quater of what I do. I am applying for residency soon and hope by fall I will only have to pay in state...cuz to be honest...it's sorta a rip off for us out of staters...but if you are in state- it's on US News & WR best bargains list. I think they can only give the in staters such a bargain cuz the out of staters make up for it... yay, Jamaica is only 2 days away..a place where I can forget about tuition costs.

GENZ - the stock that keeps on giving

GENZ it went up another few dollars...what a quinkydink, right after my father got a shot of Synvisc in the knee the other day. I would like to quote him after his shot- (I swear he really said this): "every since I got the shot of synvisc i have no pain in my knee anymore".

anyway, hope you all can get in on the action...

By MarketWatchLast Update: 5:32 PM ET May 5, 2005
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (MarketWatch) -- Genzyme Corp. (GENZ) said a clinical review of its oesteoarthritis product Synvisc showed the product was effective.

In a press release Wednesday, the company said that since it is delivered locally, Synvisc avoids many of the associated side-effects of traditional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and COX-2 agents. Synvisc is used for the treatment of pain due to osteoarthritis of the knee.
The pharmaceutical company said a review examining the clinical benefits of Synvisc and the class of viscosupplements to which it belongs has been published by the Cochrane Collaboration, an independent, international organization that disseminates systematic reviews of healthcare interventions and clinical trials data.
The Cochrane Collaboration review concluded the class of viscosupplements is superior to placebo and that several of the products have greater efficacy than steroid injections in treating pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee. Viscosupplements are a kind of injectable product. Genzyme shares recently traded at $62.92, up $2.90, or 4.8%

are we retarded or what?

...why wasn't the Coast Guard able to find these boys faster???!!!....6 days!...come on people? This should have taken a few hours tops. No wonder we can't find Bin Laden. No more people to the moon if we can't even keep track of them down here.

These two kids- wow very tough! amazing:

Teens saved after six days at sea

At one point the pair thought they had drifted close to AfricaTwo US teenagers lost at sea for six days have been found by fishermen more than 100 miles (160km) from where they had set off.
Troy Driscoll, 15, and Josh Long, 18, survived on jellyfish and seawater after their small sailing boat was swept out to sea off South Carolina.
The pair were picked up off Cape Fear after they were seen on Saturday clinging to the 14ft (4.3m) boat.
The boys were said to be sunburned, dehydrated and exhausted.
Sharks
The pair had set out on a blustery day when the National Weather Service warned small boats to stay off the water.
They realised they were in trouble almost immediately and tried to swim back to shore, pulling the boat along with them.
I asked God to take me
Troy Driscoll
The boys shared a single wetsuit to stay warm at night.
They said they tried to take dips in the ocean to cool off, but were chased back on to their boat by sharks.
At one point the boys thought that they had drifted so far out into the Atlantic that they were close to Africa.
"I asked God to take me," Troy said. "You're out there fighting for your life. We didn't want to fight anymore."
Charleston coast guard June Ryan said the search team had prayed for a miracle - and "got one".
"Everybody on the East Coast has been looking for these boys," she said.
