tom tom gps

so got my dad a magellan gps system last xmas and we ended up hating it because it couldn't find the satellite signal...kinda a problem. luckily I had got it at costco so we were able to give it the boot 6 months later (yes, that is right- you can return things at costco up to 6 months later and YEs we do that all the time....I LOVE COSTCO.) anyway, so Tom Tom came out with a super gps system for 200 dollars less than the crappy 1100 magellan POS.... so far it seems to be very cool...it does more stuff too...like walking and biking routes...it's wireless...and it has cool voices...(my dad has some girlfriend on there). all my bloggin friends need one but make sure you get the lastest model...the one with the harddisk...and get it online from costco so you can return it in 6 months if you hate it. Also, I have decided this company is going to make it big and we should buy stock in it. It's a pain to get the stock online so call your broker - ticker is Tom2.as - it's on the amsterdam exchange.

every minute counts

some friends of mine in greensboro just lost a close friend and recieved the news last night while at a party . I feel sad and sorry for everyone.I just ask God (or whatever you choose to call that which is watching over us) to take care of him and those left behind. all morning I hve been trying to figure out what do you do when friends lose a friend? I guess friends of the grieving can help friends remember them...maybe reminding them to think of all the good things, the fun things, the funny things, the kind things that they said and did.
one think I know for sure is that when there is a bad ending to life (short-lived, sucide, planecrash, car accidents, other) i think do not focus on the end but celebrate in the good memories. I think it important to honor those we lose by living your life as well as possible.
i remember from growing up learning to coach swimming we were taught to focus on creating memories because in the end it's all we have....so true.
also, random thought...Psalm 23 is also the best Psalm ever...if you are ever really suffering I suggest you memorize it and say it because it helps....but with this you have to look up in a book or on the internet what it means...if you don't have the full meaning it won't do as much good.
one more random something ....click on the view presentation button found on this website and watch this entire flash movie:

restricted account

scottrade restricted my accounts today because they said they were trying to call me and the phone number didn't work...does that make sense to anyone? what were they planning on doing with the money since they were not letting me get to my own account---is that the policy..if a phone number changes they cut you off--the worse part is I had been in their offices and given them the new info 3 times this year..... what a pain= o need to switch to anyone else.

uh huh! NC resident

that's right, you may now address me as NC Resident Jean Gonnella .ok so I guess I can't complain about my classes at UNCG anymore since I don't have to pay out of state tuition anymore. I can't stop smiling! s*ckers. The best part of all is that I also am getting a refund for my out of state summer school...even know they applied most of the money to next years tuition...so I owe them nothing ever again.

south africa- what the hell?

I have a suggestion for the people of South Africa that I am going to email over to Mandella.

No one there can have sex....EVER....(or at least until we see a decrease in the numbers!)

(07-11) 10:02 PDT JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (AP) --
More than 6.5 million of South Africa's 47 million people could be infected with HIV, according to a government report released Monday, a sharp increase from previous estimates.
A 2004 Health Department survey of more than 16,000 pregnant women attending antenatal clinics indicated between 6.29 million and 6.57 million South Africans were infected with the virus that causes AIDS, compared to 5.6 million in 2003.
